Our
Story
The Birth of Oliver Goods
In the quiet hours of the night, while soothing a crying newborn, a sleep-deprived new dad found himself deep in thought. Holding his infant son, Oliver, he reflected on the kind of father he wanted to be and the legacy he hoped to leave behind. In those moments, the idea for Oliver Goods was born.
A Father’s Legacy
As I cradled my son, I began to think about the things I wish I had from my own father—something tangible that I could carry with me, a piece of him that would last long after he was gone. A watch, a wallet, or a notebook—something that would stand the test of time and serve as a constant reminder of the bond we shared. It struck me then that I wanted to create something like that for Oliver, something he could carry with him as he grows up, something that would connect us even when we’re apart.
The Birth of a Craft
Inspired by this desire, I turned to leather crafting—a skill I had admired from afar, watching videos and learning from friends who were already immersed in the craft. Leather, with its durability and timeless appeal, seemed the perfect medium for creating the kind of legacy I envisioned. What started as a personal project soon grew into a passion for creating high-quality, handcrafted leather goods—items that aren’t just functional but are meant to be cherished and passed down through generations.
Fighting Throwaway Culture
In a world where convenience often outweighs quality, and products are designed to be replaced rather than treasured, I saw an opportunity to make a difference. I wanted to push back against the throwaway culture that dominates our lives today, where everything is cheap, replaceable, and lacking in true value. By crafting leather goods that are built to last, I hope to offer an alternative—items that are made with care, meant to be used, loved, and eventually handed down, carrying with them the stories and memories of those who owned them.
Keeping Tradition Alive
Leather crafting, like many artisan crafts, is a nearly forgotten art in today’s world. As hat makers, boot makers, blacksmiths, and other traditional artisans have faded from the mainstream, I feel privileged to keep this craft alive. In a time when such skills are rare, I take pride in being part of a community that values the work of the hands and the beauty of materials that age with grace.
Every wallet, belt, or notebook I create is more than just a product—it’s a testament to the care, dedication, and tradition that goes into every stitch. It’s a reminder that some things are worth making well, worth holding onto, and worth passing down.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Whether you’re here to find a piece for yourself or something special to pass down, I hope you find something that speaks to you and stands the test of time.
Best Regards,
Mason Griffin
